Hothead

This episode's GAYLEs are, at the request of Tresca, ambiguous hot drinks with lots of whipped cream.

GAYLE -- Many people have disagreed with Omar's award, but he is the final arbiter. That's why we have honorable mentions. So: The coffee shop scene in its entirety, the Dominic scene in its entirety, and, my personal favorite, Lex flirting with his father all tie for first runner up.

GAL -- "We could always try a rematch. Or are you afraid you can't take your son again?" Honorable mention to Lionel's "Are ya good enough to take on your old man?" The anonymous jock who says "Coach is riding me pretty hard." also qualifies.

HoNay! -- Clark trying to impress an absent Lana with his moves. No, the ones on the football field. For Lex, the implications of Dominic saying 'hi' to his sister.

PHOC -- Oh, dear heavens what Lex does with a pool cue.

SWOLI -- There were many fine nominees, but I must lean toward Nell's "Well, you can't let a couple of bad apples spoil the experience." I wonder how many bad apples she's had. Honorable mention to Principal Kwan saying, "What's going on in here?" when a television is on fire.

The Juvie -- Lana discovers life outside cheerleading. Clark discovers that being on the football team isn't all its cracked up to be.

The Platypus -- Once again goes to Bo Kent for "I'm happy when you wake up in the morning." Any subtexts may discussed.

Occasionals:

The Acting!Lana -- I think she has enough nominations for her coffee-house scenes that it can be awarded this week. It will not be awarded again until we have discerned movement in her upper lip.

The DICK -- Apparently a gorgeous man writhing around hot and sweaty on the floor is drool inducing. Who'd have thought it?

The DRILL -- Lex breathed, what more does he need to do? Oh, yes! Get hot and sweaty while fencing. His father. And speaking of subtextsŠ

The Hammer -- It's the one where Omar first notices all the phallic objects that Lex picks up in the scene with Dominic and suggests that Lex may end up opening the refrigerator and blowing a cucumber. Why? Well, that's the passage that inspired the GAYLEs in the first place.
